WHY THIS APP:
Although this App can be helpful to anyone, it was originally developed with seniors in mind. It had been a great privilege for this App developer to work for a senior professor, an outstanding life-long molecular virologist and cancer molecular biologist, till the end of 2017. Besides his passion for science, he loved 'i' tech very much: iPhone, iWatch, and iPad. Often, after research discussion sessions with him and a terrific and highly-respected colleague, I became his 'tech' person, to help solve some of the problems he encountered. I was by no means a tech person, but I could appreciate his thoughts of why smart techs often did not work the way he wanted;
He had excellent health all his life, but as time went by, you could notice some gradual changes in him. Perhaps his fingers weren't supple enough to make a good contact with the buttons, perhaps the buttons were too small, or perhaps the information on the screen was just too much and too crowded. I tried my best to help him at any moment I could, but I often wondered if iPhone Apps could be designed more with seniors in mind...
Recently, I thought of him again and this App idea came to mind. I sincerely hope that many people could benefit from this App. Best wishes...
In testing on iPod Touch 4-in screen (running on System version 9.3), the 'Update' button gets partly covered by the keyboard. In such a case, simply touch anywhere outside of the text field to dismiss the keyboard.
WHAT DOES IT DO:
It lets you place all usernames/passwords, phone numbers, birthdays, and daily short notes in one place;
It has a simple design and large fonts and buttons for convenient use by seniors, although these can be used by anyone;
It offers a peace of mind, as you don't have to keep track of all the information in the head.
Starting from App version 1.3, through an In-App-Purchase, an optional iCloud data sync function can be activated, to prevent loss of data if App is accidentally deleted, and to allow sync between different devices. See version information for details.
1. Taichi Expression - a serious and fun exercise program based on the idea that to be effective, exercise has to be practical, compatible, balanced, uplifting, and enjoyable, like an orchestra playing a piece of music in different movements on different pitches and tempos;
2. A Mindful Break - a slow, gentle exercise for an 8-min break from work (or home), a peaceful mind-body dialogue, and training for flexibility and health (possibly helpful for normalizing gastrointestinal functions), plus a 1-min scan of possibly most-talked-about news at the moment;
3. Day Plus Minus - easily take note of significant daily activities and thoughts, and view them easily based on categories; use preset buttons for adding activities and scores easily; use resettable buttons for convenient viewing of different activities as a list, bar chart, or a table of daily scores; search specific notes with a keyword; find patterns in daily activities that may offer clues to a better plan for action tomorrow.
