Pipefitter Estimator Man-Hour Manual (PEMM)

PEMM is a comprehensive pipe-fitter labor reference app. It empowers craftsmen, estimators, contractors, engineers, and owners alike with the time-value of piping work, providing the data needed to evaluate, secure, schedule, conduct, and monitor all manner of this work, wherever encountered.

The app provides instant access to over 100,000 pipe-fitting man-hour units, including handling, joining, supporting, and testing activities, component-units, and line-budgets, for carbon and stainless piping from ½ to 48 inches diameter. Pipe size, schedule, and material can all be chosen from drop down lists, and productivity factors and labor-rates set as required. Imperial and metric specifications are provided for every choice and all of the output data is provided in both man-hour and dollar values.

For estimating considerations, entering a quantity for any item results in instantaneous line and summary totals in both man-hours and dollars, and these can be collectively reset to zero at any time.

Five radio-buttons [SIZE] [SCH] [MAT] [PROD] [LAB RATE] allow for a fast and effective means to access and use the entire database. They are interactive and choices are instantly reflected in the output tables.

The [SIZE] [SCH] [MAT] buttons allow for choosing the pipe being considered, the [PROD] button allows for choosing the productivity level, and the [LAB RATE] button allows for setting a cost or price rate.

The program initializes with a default data set for 4” STD CS piping at a productivity of 1.0, and labor rate of $100.00, and then alternative choices can be made as needed.

Then for every input choice all the [Specification] [Handling] [Joining] [Supporting] [Testing] [Component] and [Line Budget] tables are instantly updated.

For unusual or off-spec pipe, cycle through the SCH list and pick the closest wall-thickness match for the size being considered.

This app in total, reflects sound pipe-fitting work world over, and will serve all practitioners and stakeholders equally well.
