Safeguarding Children 4 U

Each and every one of us, whatever our role or position, has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. As professionals, we need to work together with children, young people and families and other professionals so that we can identify early signs of vulnerability, offer early help and intervention; with the overall aim of achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.

As professionals we need to be familiar with current legislation, guidance and procedures in order to be most effective in our work. The safeguarding children app will enable you to easily and readily refer to relevant national, local guidance and procedures in order to assist and support all professionals in this area of work.

The safeguarding children app has been specifically designed for all health professionals who work within Derbyshire and Derby City who work in either the commissioning or provider environment and it can also be a useful resource for other professionals and members of the public.

The safeguarding children app can be easily and freely downloaded by all professionals who work directly or indirectly with children and families. It will provide the user with instant access to relevant documents and local safeguarding children procedures.

The app aims to provide professionals guidance in their day to day work and decision making process in relation to protecting children from abuse and neglect. The app provides the user with informative information on what child abuse is, what to do if you are worried about a child and how to make a referral.
