App Store Description

SecureText: keep your notes safe from prying eyes.

Use advanced encryption technology to password-protect your private text files. Whether it's your christmas shopping list or your credit card, SecureText keeps it safe.

Features:

✓ Easy to use UI, modeled after the built-in notes application.
✓ Folders: including sub-folders, and complete support for moving and renaming items.
✓ Sort files and folders, automatically or manually.
✓ Search files by name or content.
✓ Forgotten passwords: set any number of secret questions to reset a lost password.
✓ Remote wipe: remotely delete the contents of the application via a web interface. (Occurs the next time the app is launched with an internet connection.)
✓ Supports the high-res Retina Display on iPhone 4 & 4th generation iPod touch.

Please note: encryption is only as secure as the password used with it. For better security, use a more complex password.

Some technical information: SecureText uses the AES encryption algorithm with 256-bit keys. Password verification is performed using a salted MD5 hash, to protect against reverse-lookups. A second salt is applied to the password to generate the encryption key, which is used to encrypt and decrypt files and folders. Encrypted data is stored in BLOB format in an SQLite3 database.
