Self Tours

Self Tours is for tourist attractions to hire/lend iPads to tourists for them to display information as they walk around the tourist attraction. QR codes and/or numeric codes need to be at each attraction for the user to display information about that particular topic.

Self Tours is highly configurable while simultaneously offering simple operation to the tourists using the software.

The data is initially downloaded from the Self Tours server and then the app doesn't use the network while in normal user operating mode. An administrator can perform an update from the server when it's convenient (and only changes and updates are synchronised).

Features:
• Stores and displays unlimited topics about your tourist attraction
• Allows user to scan a QR code to display the relevant topic
• Alternatively, the user can manually enter a code
• Search and browse topics
• Topics can be cross-linked
• Content can include text, photos, diagrams, audio and video content
• View a map of your tourist attraction (topics can link to points on the map for easy navigation)

• Administration features are passcode protected
• Full logging and reporting of user activity
• User can provide feedback for each topic (rating and comment)
• Update data from the server

Supports iPad 2 and above (requires iOS 9 or above).

Please contact T8 Software to add your tourist attraction to Self Tours. We will work with you to develop the content and presentation for your particular tourist attraction. The screenshots show Self Tours in a botanic gardens, but the application will work perfectly for any indoor our outdoor location.

To view a demonstration of the capabilities of the software you need to tap the "Click to Configure Application" when it first starts. This will download the "Botanic Explorer" configuration that will allow you to use the application. Once the data is downloaded, you can explore all the features of the application. To re-enter the administration section, use the "Administration" link at the bottom of the Home topic. The password is "1234" (this will obviously be configurable in a live site). In the administration screen you can check for any updates, view the Statistics of which topics have been visited, and view the feedback that users have left.
