Speech impaired handicapped people amount to 3 million individuals in the United States alone. Due to injury or illness people can lose the ability to speak, or may be impaired where people cannot understand what they're saying.
This application was designed for speech impaired individuals. It has a simple interface that allows the user to create a category that can be searched when needed to find the phrase that they want to have spoken.
There are two text fields that can be used as text to speech. The first is a simple statement that the user would like to have someone do something or get something for them.
The second text field is used to expand the request and provide details of exactly with the speech impaired person wants them to understand.
For example; first text line " I need a drink of water" this could be under the category of "Drink", and if you type in drink in the category any and all types of drinks will be listed. In this case the first text field shows the phrase I need a drink of water. If you tap on that phrase it opens a screen where you tap on the actual phrase and it is spoken for you. Depending upon your location, this can be spoken in English, French, German, or Spanish.
The detail or notes text field may be edited to include any additional descriptions required. For example; if the user wanted a cup of coffee, the description or notes field would be used to describe details like cream and sugar, or even the size of the cup coffee.
The app includes a rate of speech slider to adjust the speaking to make it as clear as possible. It may need to be slowed down or speed up to allow the
