App Store Description

Fill your canteen, lace up your Timberlands, and grab a can of bear mace because the State Parks Locator is taking you camping. Whether you’re a hiker, biker, hunter, climber, spelunker, or just another city slicker looking to tough it in the great outdoors, this app will show you the way to every State Park from the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream waters.

With over 3,000 parks mapped across the US, the State Park Locator not only shows you how to get to your destination, but provides background info on what makes it so special. Either input your current location or choose a new one to view up to 500 nearby nature preserves to pick from. Still pining for more details? Fear not, brave trekker, because we've included the contact info and website for every state park on the map, making it easy for you to call up a local ranger to request further info on safety, access, and amenities.

The State Parks Locator database continues to improve thanks to you. While the app comes pre-programmed with enough listings to satisfy the most hardcore of naturalists, users are encouraged to submit reviews, photos, and additional background info (including closures) directly from their mobile device. Just select the “Update or correct information” or “Submit a photo” options in each listing; your submission will be reviewed for accuracy and added within 48 hours. Users can also modify listings by going to www.mapmuse.com.
