App Store Description

Traces is designed to be a simple and clean app that records your outdoor traces and shows them on map. You can record while you are running, cycling, walking. You can also record bus tracks, train tracks, flight tracks and boating tracks.

Besides recording and showing your tracks, Traces is also an outdoor-friendly Apple Maps. It supports single finger zooming and all four rotation directions. There is also a planning mode, in which you can plan routes or measure distance.

File format is GPX. You can use it for other purposes such as uploading to Strava. The recorded files are generally smaller than other GPS tracking apps, while not degrading the shape of the track.

All GPX files are saved to your iCloud Drive, and therefore can be synchronized to all your iOS devices and Mac. You can also add existing GPX files to your map by transferring them to your iCloud Drive.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
