Effective bed management is crucial in hospitals, especially when occupancy rates are consistently high. Every minute after a patient is discharged is vital to minimize bed downtime and ensure availability for incoming patients.

Recognizing this challenge, a Bed Discharge Management System (BDMS) was developed to streamline communication between the housekeeping team and other hospital departments, such as admissions and wards. The BDMS integrates seamlessly with existing Bed Management Systems or other hospital information systems like PIMS, HIS, or SAP. This integration allows discharge cleaning requests to be automatically routed to the appropriate housekeeping staff.

Additionally, the system provides wards with an option to request bed discharge cleaning directly from the housekeeping department for any ad-hoc needs. This enhances efficiency, reduces bed turnaround time, and ultimately improves patient flow and hospital operations.
