V-Note Timelines allows you to code live video (or audio) recorded with external cameras (or recorders). It generates a very small file, which you can then send and open with our computer-based apps.
Note: if you would like to code your video at the same time you record it directly on your iOS device, please find our other apps: V-Note iPad and iPhone Editions.
This app works like this:
Create a button for each type of event on your video (or audio) a score, a question, a point to review, a player, a speaker, etc. Start the timer with the red button. As each event occurs, press the button to mark (code) the event occurrence on the timeline. You can also save button groups for reuse later.
These labeled (i.e., coded) timelines can be opened in our computer apps. When the video or audio is added, your codes can be aligned perfectly and then further analysis can be made including: raw data and statistics, interrater reliability, transcriptions, multiple coders compared, and much more.
