What is it about?

This app displays digital content on the historic makers located across the country (currently only in coastal Georgia) in the form of a digital timeline. This timeline appears through your device camera when it recognizes one of the historic makers. The images on the timeline depict other historic places, objects, figures, or interpretations that are not represented in the text of the marker itself. Furthermore, these images act as buttons that can be clicked to link to other information about the place, people, and environment the maker is describing. The unique aspect of youARhere is that it will let you record your own interpretation of culturally and historically significant places, environmental futures, and images of how the place looks while you are visiting. Users can also explore other peoples contributions to the specific marker and landscape. This information will be used (no identities revealed) to better understand public perceptions of places, histories, and environmental conditions.
