Could This Be The New iPhone?

The iPodObserver was the first to break the news and now MacRumors has followed suit with their own set of leaked photos.
The new photos show the back casing of what is alleged to be the new 16GB iPhone 3G. As you can obviously see from the photos above, the casing is said to have a matte black finish instead of the usual glossy surfaces Apple has previously used.
The photo also indicates a new and previously unused model number: A1303. The photos are said to originate from an unknown Chinese source.
As always, these are only rumors. We will remain skeptical but it would be nice to have a more textured casing so the iPhone doesn't slip out of our grimy paws like a bar of soap.
