Manomio's Commodore 64 Emulator Is Back In The App Store

Manomio's Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone and iPod touch has had its fair share of issues, including originally being rejected by Apple way back in June of this year and being pulled from the App Store because Manomio decided to leave the BASIC interpreter intact, but sometimes the best things in life are the most difficult to obtain.  Today, C64 v1.1 has landed safely back in the App Store, and let's just hope it is here to stay. c64_screen1C64 is a fully licensed Commodore 64 emulator for the iPhone and iPod touch. Manomio really went above and beyond to capture the essence of the classic 8-bit home computer system, so hopefully those of you who were already gaming in the early ’80s will feel right at home. C64 v1.1 features everything v1.0 did, minus the BASIC interpreter we assume, but it also sports a few improvements and additions.  It now features eight games in total, three of which weren't included in v1.0, up to a 30 percent performance improvement, and in-game instructions for all included games. More games will be available for download as in-app purchases in v1.2, which should be arriving sometime in the near future, and you will be able to check out a list of those games on their website as they become available.  And just as an FYI, you won't be able to load your own games since C64 only supports fully licensed disk images. C64 is available in the App Store, once again, for $4.99.
