Flash Hits The iPhone, Sorta

January 14, 2010

Right when we were starting to give up on this, a (madly) skilled developer has just published a way to run Flash animations on our beloved iDevices.

The trick? Gordon, an open source JavaScript-powered Flash runtime that appeared on github about 10 hours ago.

Basically, it's a sort of engine that anybody can integrate in a web page that will transform a Flash animation into something your iPhone can read. It doesn't require you to make any kind of modifications on your iPhone and from what I've seen it seems to be running pretty smoothly.

It's very limited for now, but damn, it's impressive.
