Job Opening: iPhone OS Could Hit New Platforms

February 24, 2010

Apple recently posted an interesting job opening that might hint at new iPhone OS-powered platforms. Here is an excerpt from the job description:
The Core Pla$tform team within Apple's Core OS organization is looking for a talented and inspired manager to lead a team focused on bring-up of iPhone OS on new platforms. The team is responsible for low level platform architecture, firmware, core drivers and bring-up of new hardware platforms.
While Apple is probably just looking for someone to help bring iPhone OS to future iPhone/iPad generations, some wild speculators believe that this could be a sign of iPhone OS coming to other devices like the Apple TV. I tend to believe these job openings are just as illogical to speculate about as Apple's patent applications, but who knows? Where would you install it? [via Apple]
