Games On Sale: Assassin's Creed II Discovery, N.O.V.A., And Tilt To Live

March 12, 2010

Just like last Friday, this Friday is loaded with opportunities to pick up some great games for free and on the cheap.  Since we have already highlighted the free ones, below are three high-profile games that recently received a price drop. Assassin's Creed II Discovery ($6.99 -> $2.99): The sequel to Altair's Chronicles follows the main character Ezio as he travels to Spain in order to free his fellow assassins. The game is a side-scrolling affair where you control Ezio with an on-screen slider and action buttons to jump, attack, and go into stealth mode. Gameplay mostly consists of running and leaping from rooftop to rooftop, and stealthily sneaking up on foes in order to take them down. A new combat system is in place for dueling with a foe that allows you to unleash combos and counter attacks. The game also features a bunch of unlockable items, achievements, and about 6 hours of gameplay. Check out our in-depth review to learn more. Assassin's Creed II Discovery is on sale for a limited time. It is actually now priced lower than Gameloft's first Assassin's Creed game. N.O.V.A. ($6.99 -> $4.99): A sci-fi FPS that tells the story of a retired Marine hero named Kal Wardin who must return to active duty in order to prevent mankind from being annihilated by the evil aliens known only as “Judges.” The game’s single-player campaign features 13 levels that take place in five different environments. It also features a total of six weapons, not including grenades, and the ability to man turrets in certain levels. N.O.V.A. also features a multiplayer mode that can be played locally via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or online via Wi-Fi. The game utilizes Gameloft’s free online service, Gameloft Live, to pit you against up to three other players. Multiplayer features five maps and online leader boards that can be viewed in-game and on their official website.  Check out our in-depth review to learn even more. N.O.V.A. looks to have received the permanent price drop treatment, but download it now just in case. Tilt to Live ($1.99 -> $.99): Tilt to Live appears to be just a simple accelerometer game on the surface, but proves to be a polished gem after only minutes of action. The basic premise of the game is to avoid running into the red dots scattered around the level by guiding your white arrow into the many power-ups on the map, which include nuclear bombs, homing missiles, shields and more.  The game features clean and crisp graphics, amazing accelerometer controls, absolutely addictive gameplay, and achievements and leaderboards via AGON online.  This is truly a casual gamers dream.  Check out our in-depth review to see what we had to say about Tilt to Live. Tilt to Live will be on sale through the weekend.
