Twitter's Official iPhone Client Hits The App Store
As presaged yesterday morning by Tweetie's disappearance, Twitter's official iPhone client has just made its way into the App Store and is now available for download. Twitter, as it's simply called, comes as the 3.0 update to Atebits' very popular Tweetie 2. So if you already have it, just hit the update button. Otherwise, you can get it here (iTunes link).
Also, it's completely free. Which is really a great news because it's by far the best iPhone twitter client out there. On the other hand though, it's going to be very interesting to see how other iPhone twitter clients (at least the paid ones) manage to differentiate and survive from now on. The only real surprise here is that Twitter is still iPhone-only, and not universal as some expected. Has Twitter decided to leave the iPad space to third-parties for now? Or will this come with the next update? Guess we'll find out soon enough.
