Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter Hits The App Store
June 14, 2010
The makers behind the highly popular Carnivores PC franchise have just released their dinosaurs onto the iOS platform, starting with versions for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter by Tatem Games was released to the App Store this Saturday.
Users track down as many as 15 different dinosaurs through two different game settings - Hunting and Survival. Make your way across five distinct environments including pine forests, muddy marshes and rolling hills. In order to be successful, you need to approach each animal differently with a strong sense of direction, knowledge of your environment - and with the right tools, you will be able to track your prey accordingly. Under Hunting, users go from landscape to landscape tracking down each dinosaur as it approaches. In Survival, where speed is important, either you defeat the dinosaur or it defeats you. Each dinosaur is brought to you in stunning 3D, with the game allowing hunting of the tamest (plant-eaters), to the most dangerous (meat-eaters), depending on your level of play. The app includes online leader boards, Facebook integration, and is the third iOS app available from Tatem games after iGibbets and Race. An iPad edition of Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter is expected later this year. You can grab Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter for $4.99 on the App Store today.
