GameFly has expanded its mobile video game news, reviews, and renting service beyond the iPhone and iPod touch with an update to their popular GameCenter app that adds an iPad-optimized interface. The update also gives you more ways to find just what you are looking for, along with a couple of other handy features. GameFly's GameCenter app provides you with everything you need to research, rent, and even purchase games for nearly every platform out there -- even iPhone and iPad -- all via an iPad-friendly user interface. GameCenter allows you to search for specific games under specific platforms, and view user ratings, critic ratings, cheats, controls, specs, and even HD quality trailers. Games can be broken down by most popular, new releases, and coming soon, so you never miss out. Once you have found a title you are interested in, just tap on rent (or buy in some cases) and it will be shipped to your house and you can keep it for as long as you would like. You can also easily manage your GameFly queue from within the app as well. If you don't already have a GameFly account, you can sign-up for one for as little as $5.95 for the first month. The company also offers a 15-day free trial, although the app provides a link to the company's website in order to sign-up for the service instead of allowing you to do it through the app itself. Another small issue I have with the app is that it is unable to display content in portrait mode, but I guess you just can't have everything. GameCenter also provides you with up-to-the minute news regarding your favorite titles, the ability to invite friends via your address book, and the ability to customize your platforms and news. GameCenter is available in the App Store for free.
