December 7, 2010
The elegant world clock and weather app Living Earth HD has gained over a dozen improvements in the latest update, including plenty of fixes and a couple small, yet handy, feature additions. Living Earth HD v1.07 includes support for even more cities, landscape viewing for iPhone and iPod touch users, a Quick City List view, and: • Improve atmosphere effect when zooming • Localized date and time for all regions • Included Help section with Frequently Asked Questions (located under the Settings section) • Allow rotation while dimmed (night mode) • New sunrise/sunset icons • Resolve cloud updates for some users in certain regions • Fix Sunrise/Sunset times for certain regions when in DST • Improve formatting when temperature is in single digits • Improved Current Location behavior when location is not available To use the Quick City List view, simply tap on the city name, current time, etc section to bring up the list. Tap a city in the list to quickly jump to it, or tap in the open space on the side to close it without change. When viewing a city's weather forecast, you can scroll through your cities with a quick left or right swipe. Living Earth HD is a universal world clock and weather app that also provides you with a full 3D simulation of the Earth. The app includes data for over 22,000 cities worldwide, and you can find your city either searching by name or allowing the app to locate you current position. The location, current time, sunrise, sunset, and weather data is constantly displayed on the screen along with a satellite view of Earth. You can pull up more detailed weather information including humidity, wind, and a three-day outlook by tapping on the current temp. The 3D simulation of Earth isn’t just eye candy. It provides you with real-time satellite cloud data, so you can view local or global cloud patterns. It also displays seasonal changes, and the sunrise and sunset. The Earth can be set in motion by swiping it, and you can pinch to zoom to get a closer look. To get back to your current location, just tap the city name. Living Earth HD is a universal app compatible with iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch running iOS 3.2 or later. You can get your copy of Living Earth HD at the still discounted price of just $.99 in the App Store now.
