The folks at Path, Inc. have released a new update to their iPhone/iPod touch app by the same name. The latest version of Path (1.2), allows users to upload 10 second video clips along with pictures, using a service called "Video Moments." The app allows users to catalog their comings and goings via the iPhone and then tell their friends about it. Path users capture life’s moments with their iPhone camera. A day’s “path” can be shared with 50 of the user's closest friends and family. Along with a photo or video, moments can include tags indicating people, places, and things. Here is a video:
It will be interesting to see if the public warms to the new video option. In 2008, Twitter attempted a similar service called 12seconds.tv. It was promptly pulled after little success.
Path is available for free in the App Store.
