Reminder: The App Store Is Taking A Week Off This Holiday

December 3, 2010
A short note to remind everyone that this year, like previous years, the App Store will be taking a few days off at Christmas starting Thursday the 23rd of December through Tuesday the 28th. No need to freak out as Apple will only be closing as far as developers are concerned. This means that rankings, submissions, approvals and price changes will be frozen. You will, however, still able to purchase at will. Knowing how it all goes during the holiday session, there will be some massive app buying going on. Nevertheless, if you're developing an app, make sure to have it in very soon, as otherwise it won't be up on the store for Christmas. Also, Apple informs us that despite recently introducing the ability for developers to schedule price changes, this won't be possible during the holiday. For us, it means that we won't have any prices changes to tell you about, nor any AppFresh, most likely. We will be giving you some special coverage, as well as putting together some great guides for those who will join the wonderful world of iOS this Christmas, so stick around.
