Think Geek Announces The iPad Compatible JOYSTICK-IT Tablet Arcade Stick

January 6, 2011
Even though the iPhone and iPod touch resemble Nintendo's Game Boy Advance, Sega's Game Gear, and Sony's PlayStation Portable mobile gaming devices, making a natural transition for former on-the-go gamers; what's to be said of those blasting away enemies on the bigger screen but still portable tablet platform? Think Geek is looking to be a bigger part of the mobile gaming revolution involving touchscreen play-anywhere devices with their upcoming JOYSTICK-IT Tablet Arcade Stick. The JOYSTICK-IT works on any capacitive touchscreen display, like Apple's iPad. Designed for those frustrated by the virtual D-Pads and joysticks, JOYSTICK-IT brings back the full physical action of your raging thumbs. Some readers may be having a moment of déjà vu, as the JOYSTICK-IT indeed holds a number of similarities to Ten One Design's Fling Tactile Game Controller for iPad. The looks and approach are a bit different but the idea is the same. JOYSTICK-IT Tablet Arcade Stick features: • Works with thousands of different games • No wires or batteries required • Removable and reposition-able. Will not harm your screen. • Solid milled-aluminum construction JOYSTICK-IT is scheduled to be available for purchase later this month at a price tag of $24.99 plus any taxes, shipping, and handing fees that may be applicable. For those perhaps confused again, the $25 price tag and late January availability are also similarities of both products. However, my guess is that the real question most are asking, does this really work and work well?
