Rimelands: Hammer Of Thor Update Adds Universal Compatibility, Retina Graphics

January 17, 2011
Rimelands: Hammer of Thor, one of the most epic turn-based RPGs available in the App Store, can now be fully enjoyed on an iPad thanks to a recent update that added universal compatibility.  iPhone 4 and fourth generation iPod touch owners also benefit from the latest update since it has added the always-appreciated Retina quality graphics. Being a relatively long-awaited update, it's not surprising that there is all kinds of new content to enjoy as well.  The game now features two new levels, three new "extremely challenging" bosses, six new enemies, and all kinds of new items, but there is one small catch. All of this new content is only available after you have completed the game, which, at least in my case, means that you will be playing for quite a few more hours before laying eyes on the new levels. For those who were previously experiencing issues when playing Rimelands, you will be happy to know that Crescent Moon and Dicework have addressed most of them and have fixed the earlier balancing issues.  However, it seems that if your last game save left you stuck at the very end of the game, this update will not remedy the issue, which is disappointing to say the least. If you haven't yet taken part in this massive adventure, we definitely recommend doing so now, especially since Rimelands: Hammer of Thor has been marked down from $4.99 to $1.99 for a limited time.  If you are still on the fence, feel free to check out our in-depth review.
