Lifelike Cards HD App Update Now Live

February 7, 2011
When it debuted last December, Lifelike Cards HD for the iPad became an instant hit around the globe. In Australia, Apple named it their “App of the Week.” Now, the folks at Lifelike Apps have released a significant upgrade, which we profiled last week. Version 1.5 shifts the app’s focus away from postcards to greeting cards.

According to creator, Dotan Saguy:
“There’s nothing quite like it in the App Store. A lot of the apps these days are more of the same with a slightly different spin. This app is thought through from a blank slate.”
Each greeting card is easily customizable with your choice of handwriting, colors, and ornaments. You can send completed cards via email to one recipient, or everyone on your contacts list. Don’t worry, the app’s signature use of a postcard rack is still there and better than ever. It even turns when you swipe your fingers in either direction (along with a squeaking sound). Each side of the rack includes up to 20 photos taken from the Flickr photo-sharing site.

By default, the app highlights photos for an upcoming holiday. However, many different types of photos are available. Users can find photos that suit their tastes, by place or theme.

The latest version of Lifelike Cards HD is priced at $1.99.
