PhotoSync: Universal Wireless Transfer Finally Made Easy

February 22, 2011
PhotoSync is a universal, $1.99 iOS application that allows users to wirelessly transfer photos and videos from iOS to iOS, from iOS to a computer, or from a computer to iOS. Forget cables, because this handy app can do the job for you wirelessly in seconds. I've been using Dropbox, which we all know and love, to transfer screenshots from my iPhone or iPad, to my Mac. It's an incredibly handy service, but the process isn't exactly streamlined - in my opinion. Dropbox is pretty simple, but recently I've been looking for something even simpler. Thanks to a recent post by MacStories, I may have just found what I've been looking for. PhotoSync has no upload limit, and it allows users to transfer via Bluetooth (iOS to iOS only). Once your photos are online, you can access them from the Web, and Mac users can easily "drag" the images over to iPhoto or Aperture. A free client must be downloaded, but once you've installed the software, you're good to go. Like I said, Dropbox is a free alternative, and it may do the job for you just fine. But, if you're looking for something slightly different, check out PhotoSync in the App Store. It's currently available for $1.99.
