Facebook & Chat for iPad - Friends With Benefits Is Getting An Update -- And We’ve Got Promo Codes To Give Away!

One of the apps featured in our recently updated AppGuide, Facebook Apps For iPad, is actually getting an update soon. It’s called Facebook & Chat for iPad - Friends With Benefits, and we’ve got promo codes to give away!
As we all know, there is no official Facebook app for the iPad. Of course, you can access the website on the iPad via your favorite browser, which is why the folks at Facebook don’t feel the need for a dedicated app. But some of us want more. Facebook & Chat for iPad - Friends With Benefits is one of those apps that offers more. Featured in the Notable section of our AppGuide, this app has a lot to offer.
Are you sick of “Facebook Blue”? If so, then you’ll love this app, which is essentially a “skin” for the web version of Facebook. The main Facebook features are there, with the same setup as the website. Only there is a strip on the left edge where you can customize your Facebook a bit. There are over 20 different themes, with different colors/textures/patterns, so you aren’t stuck with the usual blue. You can also change the font size, which is a nice feature. Now, I have the “Block Advertisements” toggled to “ON”, but still, one ad managed to slip though, while the rest that would normally show on the website do seem to be blocked. Luckily, this is going to be fixed soon. This is a really nice way to access your Facebook. It has all the advantages of using the website, plus customization such as ad removal and colorful themes not allowed by the site.
I spoke with developer Robert Luke from High Phidelity, and he told me: “I did want to let you know that we submitted a new update yesterday with a few fixes and enhancements, one of which is zapping that pesky little ad that somehow made its way back into the app. We're also adding a colorful new theme and bringing themes to the Chat portion of our app. We're starting with a very attractive Dark/Light choice (pics below) and will then evaluate if we should add many more.”
