This Is Exactly The Kind Of Voice Recognition Service We Want To Launch With iOS 5

May 16, 2011
One Apple fan has created an impressive concept video, which outlines exactly what he - and most of us - are hoping to see in iOS 5: Namely, an improved Voice Control service. For a while now, we've been hoping for Apple to greatly improve its Voice Control service with iOS 5, which we're expecting to launch later this year. While this will likely be made possible by a possible partnership with Nuance, the exact specifics of what an "improved Voice Control service" could entail have gone largely unimagined, until now. Jan-Michael Cart is the guy behind the concept, which has been outlined in the below YouTube video. As you can see, his idea involves the Voice Control service interacting with almost every aspect of the iOS - at least, every available text field (e.g., Messages app, Facebook status updates and more). Cart also notes that APIs could be given to developers, allowing the technology to be incorporated within third party apps. Sounds good to me. Check out the video (below), and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
