Apple To Begin Selling Tones For Alert Sounds Via New Store

Apple does a lot of things right, but up until this point the company’s selection of tone sounds for alerts have been anything but impressive. However, that is about to change. Beginning with iOS 5, users are able to purchase new tones right from the Settings app, according to a 9 To 5 Mac reader.

Billed the iTunes Tone Store, the new service allows users to purchase sounds to alert the user when texts, voicemail, new or sent mail, or calendar alerts are necessary. Check out this video from a 9 To 5 Mac reader located in Belgium:
