Catch Up On McIlroy Highlights
U.S. Open Golf Championship (Free) by United States Golf Association is the official USGA app for viewing highlights from the 2011 U.S. Open.
You can check out nearly anything you’d like to learn about history-making winner Rory McIlroy. The app also provides highlights from all four rounds and photos of McIlroy in his winning moments. Find out which U.S. Open records he broke in the news section.
The app features: video, scores, news, photos, course information, players, and radio.
The video section includes highlights of each round and spotlights McIlroy’s dad, caddie, and agent. You can recap the leaderboard from the event in the scores section. The course information displays the par and yardage for each hole. Further information provides an overview of the hole and even a flyover video of it. The players page displays a quick biography on each participating golfer. While the app is free, advertisements for IBM before all video content becomes distracting. American Express elbows its name into the app as well.
Some of the videos will crash the app. The comments in the App Store reflect this complaint as well.
Download this app now and it will be handy for next year’s event. Being available on the iPhone, it is a handy guide for attending the U.S. Open or even just catching up on its daily highlights. Maybe you won’t have to watch another IBM ad the next time around.
