Once users download iOS 5 beta and install them on their iPhone/iPod touch or iPad, there is no turning back. In other words, after installing the newest iOS one cannot revert or downgrade to previous versions, according to news first reported by Apple Insider. In a note to developers obtained by Apple Insider, Apple states:
"Devices updated to iOS 5 beta can not be restored to earlier versions of iOS. Devices will be able to upgrade to future beta releases and the final iOS 5 software."It is recommended developers opting to experiment with iOS 5 do so on an iDevice dedicated to development purposes. The iOS 5 beta, released today to developers, is the first beta of iOS 5. The public version of Apple’s next generation iOS will be available this fall.
