Last month we reviewed the app Free-Time: a daily planner meets calendar for the iPhone. Although the interface is beautiful and the app worked well, we still had some concerns about scheduling. We wanted those of us who are night owls — and even work third shift — to be able to utilize this app to its full potential. We wanted more flexibility.
On top of the scheduling concerns, we thought it would be nice to add events right into the app. In the first version, this wasn't an option; and despite the point of the app being based around what times you are free, we thought this would be a welcomed feature.
Well, busy reader! I'll stop wasting your time and get right down to the facts. Free-Time is now updated (1.1) with new features, improvements, and other bug fixes. So, let's have a look:
New Features
- Sleep and work hours are entirely more flexible. If you work the third shift this is your update!
- Selectively choose which calendars affect your free time.
- All day events now appear in your calendar view.
- Add events to your calendar right from within free time.
- International language support for calendar events.
- Event titles are now more easily visible.
- Overlapping events now split for easier viewing.
- Times when you have indicated you are sleeping are now displayed in the calendar.
- You can now filter for any time range in a given day.
- You can now filter for time within your working hours.
- Fixed a crash at startup when loading subscription calendars.
- Fixed a bug which caused events crossing over the 12 a.m. boundary to repeat on the next day.
- Fixed a bug which caused meal times to change when using the settings page.
- Fixed a bug in which calendars with undefined colors appeared illegible.
