Shadowgun Hitting iOS On September 28

September 14, 2011
If you ever played Gears of War for the Xbox 360 or PC, and loved the style of gameplay, you will be in for a treat come September 28. That's because Madfinger Games is releasing a title with a similar style of visuals and gameplay for iOS. The name of this upcoming console-quality game is Shadowgun and it surprisingly wasn't developed using the Unreal 3 engine. Instead it is a result of the Unity engine and showcases the power of that engine very well. Shadowgun plays from a third person perspective where you will have to shoot down enemies and duck for cover. It blends tactical gameplay with a run-and-gun style of action. The action is very intense and atmospheric. However, what is truly impressive are the game's visuals, they look like they were taken from a modern console game. According to the email I received from Madfinger Games, the story will revolve around John Slade, a professional bounty hunter in the year 2350. His mission is to hunt down Dr. Edgar Simon. This doctor happens to be a renowned geneticist and former employee of the trans-galactic corporation, Toltech Enterprises. The game will be launching for both tablets and smartphones with Android and iOS devices supported. This game is shaping up to be one of the biggest surprises for mobile platforms this year. Here is the gameplay trailer:
