Pollushot ($0.99) by YoYo Games Ltd. is a fun and challenging universal arcade style game that pits you against the evils of environment destroying pirates. Rid the world of their spewing pollutants and win the game.
You job is to destroy the pirate polluters by flinging falling debris at their ship. Hit them enough times and they will explode. But watch out, they have weapons of their own that will crush your tiny little sling shot ship with one blow.
In order to fling the debris at the pirate ship, you must tap and drag your slingshot-shaped vessel around on the screen, collecting the rubble as it falls. Once you have collected some, you must tap and hold the ship to trigger the shooting mechanism. Then, you can pull back on the sling shot by dragging your finger downward and aiming at the ship. There are three different worlds that you unlock by earning points. There is a wide variety of bad guys to keep you interested and the game is quite challenging.
Overall, this universal arcade style game is great for casual play. You can easily spend hours blowing up polluting pirates without even noticing how much time you have wasted. Although it has an environmentally friendly theme, the game itself doesn’t spend a single second trying to preach about saving Mother Earth. At only $0.99, it is a definite buy.
