Although Apple hasn’t officially announced its first NewsStand participants, they are a secret no longer. During today’s “Let’s talk iPhone” event, the company presented a screenshot of the upcoming service that launches on October 12. The New York Times, GQ, The New Yorker, and Wired are likely on board. In addition, Martha Stewart Living, Esquire, Allure, and Vanity Fair should also show up on day one. As a reminder, NewsStand serves as a one-stop marketplace where all your newspaper and magazine subscriptions will reside. Best of all, new issues are automatically downloaded in the background, with the cover page of each new issue readily available from within the app.
