Helpful New Features Added To Doozy - Plus Win A Copy!

January 22, 2012

Doozy by Raj Bains is a unique task management app that we reviewed a few months ago. It features a clear and colorful way to keep track of just about anything, including: appointments, notes, lists, and even the weather. The good news is it has just had a major update and now works even better.

The full list of changes is quite extensive and can be looked up from within the app itself. I'll list just a few of the highlights.

For a start, Doozy is now capable of syncing its data with other iOS devices you might own, making it easier to keep track of your reminders seamlessly. You also have the option of manually or automatically syncing with Dropbox so that you never have to be at risk of losing all your data. Unfortunately, syncing with iCloud is not yet possible. This feature is in development though and will hopefully be available in the near future.

Although very good in many regards, Doozy was originally not released with an alerts feature. This has now been included. Two alerts can be set per event in time intervals similar to those offered by the default iOS calendar.

There are a few types of events that can be set including toggle, progress and weather, but now a new kind of event type exists: RSS/XML feed. By tapping this event, Doozy will fetch a list of unread posts from your chosen feed.

There have also been a lot of UI changes to make the app easier to use, such as giving popular buttons an accompanying name to take the guess work out of what does what. There is also a quick edit button to more conveniently add tasks. Doozy is a wonderful visual aid for keeping track of your everyday life. Its constant development makes it a wise choice. GIVEAWAY: We have teamed up with Raj Bains to give 20 AppAdvice readers a copy of the app! If you would like to win, leave a comment on this post (with a valid email address so that we may contact the winners) by Friday, Jan. 27 at 5:00 p.m. PST. Winners will be chosen randomly. Good luck!
