Kickstarter: This Rugged iPad Case Offers More Than Just Protection
January 31, 2012
Most of the ruggedized iPad cases out there get the job done, but products like the Griffin Survivor and OtterBox Defender don't offer much versatility beyond their primary protective function.
To remedy that, designer Joe Pearce of UZBL (a.k.a. Uzibull, as in "usable") has created the Flex Versatility Kit for iPad 2. Built around the Ekto2 silicone skin, the kit provides a swivel mount, carrying strap, and compatibility with a number of aftermarket accessories to prop up and hold your iPad.
To finish production, Pearce has put his project on Kickstarter, and backers will get significant MSRP discounts on the various buy-ins available. If you need a good, solid, outdoors-type iPad case, you're not likely to find a better deal anywhere. With 70 folks already signed up, over half of the target amount has been raised, and there're only 19 days left to get in on the sale.
