Nightclub Mayhem ($0.99) by 99Games Online Private Limited is an iPad-only time management game that sounds a lot more risqué in theory than in practice. When I came across this game, I was hoping for something a little more adult oriented, but no such luck - you’ll be serving up mocktails and lattes in this club, rather than doing bottle service with Cristal.
Like in most venue management games (think Diner Dash and Sally’s Spa) you will attend to the needs of your patrons in order to earn money.
Patrons start out at the door, and you must escort them to a chair. Chairs and guests are both red or green, and matching colors will give you a bonus. From there, guests will request lattes and pizza at the cafe, or drinks at the bar, so you must drag the guest where they want to go and then tap to serve them.
After enjoying a tasty beverage, guests will dance and check out, which is when you’ll receive your cash. Guests will get impatient if you don’t serve them quickly enough, and when they’re angry, they pay less. The goal is to serve them all on time to get as much money as possible, and to perform several of the same actions at once to earn chain bonuses.
This is the basic premise of the game, and as you progress through levels, you will get new types of patrons that have different preferences and intolerances, and more options for foods and drinks, which will make it quite a challenge to run a successful club.
After each level you will be able to buy or upgrade your equipment to make things a bit easier. For example, you can make your chairs more comfortable which keeps guests happier longer, or upgrade your drink machine to turn out beverages faster.
This game is like any other time management game, with a different skin. It brings nothing new to the genre, so unless you’re a huge time management fan and you’ve gone through everything else in the App Store, I’d skip this one.
