Steve Jobs' Artistic Hero Gets His Very Own Gallery App

March 26, 2012
One of the favorite sayings of the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs is a quotation attributed to Pablo Picasso: "Good artists copy; great artists steal." Picasso is without a doubt one of the most influential artists of all time, so influential, in fact, as to influence one of the greatest stealers slash re-inventors of our time. Now, app developer Your Apps Online is bringing the connection between Picasso and Jobs even closer with the launch in the App Store of Picasso HD +. Picasso HD + is sort of a mini version of Art Authority dedicated to the famous 20th century Spanish painter. It contains a comprehensive gallery of Picasso's works, including many of his popular abstract masterpieces. No Internet connection is required to view any of his works in the app as all image assets are saved locally upon installation on your device, which explains the 141MB download size. Picasso HD + supports full-screen viewing, naturally with zoom capabilities. You can also save any painting that catches your fancy to your device's photo library as well as set it as your home screen or lock screen wallpaper. You can also share it with a friend via email. The app is now available in the App Store for your art viewing pleasure for only $0.99.
