The Way Of The Octopus Ninja: Popping Bubbles?

March 15, 2012
We all know how addictive popping bubble wrap can be, especially if it's fresh out of a box. Chicos Interactive certainly acknowledges this fact. (Yes, whoever says that the fact that popping bubble wrap causes addiction is actually not a fact doesn't deserve to have good things, like bubble wrap.) The developing studio is putting our penchant for making small air cushions on packaging sheets pop in its first major game release in the App Store. But instead of settling for the likeness of an ordinary bubble wrap for us to pop, Chicos Interactive are using visuals of underwater bubbles. Plus, we won't be playing as a boring little finger. Rather, we will be the taking on the role of the brave and betentacled ninja octopus named Octo. Hence, this upcoming game is titled Octo Pop: Spirit of the Tentacle. Designed for iPhone and iPod touch, Octo Pop is essentially the bubble-popping journey of Octo, which spans 11 levels across oceans, swamps, rivers and even deserts. There are bubble-spewing bosses to defeat, as well as numerous missions to accomplish, as Octo evolves into a mighty ninja octopus. Unlockable power-ups are also included in the game, rewarding combo color pops and the like. The game works in either adventure or arcade mode and features bouncy graphics and bubbly music, as seen and heard in the game trailer below. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. Octo Pop's price point is as yet unavailable, but it's already set to start popping in the App Store on Mar. 23. Ready to pop some bubbles?
