Enable Wi-Fi For Select iOS Apps With Thor, A New Jailbreak Tweak

July 1, 2012
A brand new jailbreak tweak allows users to automatically enable Wi-Fi for select iOS apps, according to Redmond Pie. The tweak - Thor - provides users with a new pane in the Settings app, via which it's possible to enable or disable auto-Wi-Fi for specific applications. For example, with Thor, you can have your iPhone automatically switch Wi-Fi on when the App Store app is launched, or the Cydia Store - apps which really require a Wi-Fi connection, if one's available. As Redmond Pie reports:
The only other setting that is present is a list of installed and supported apps which can be either set to on or off depending on whether or not the user wants the tweak to support them. An explanation that probably isn’t required, but when an app’s toggle is set to on, Wi-Fi will automatically be activated when the app is launched or requires internet services [sic]. If set to off, no internet provision will be granted. It is worth noting that this tweak only applies to Wi-Fi connectivity and apps will still have access to any cellular data connection.
You can download Thor in the Cydia Store for free. Take a look at the new jailbreak tweak now, and start customizing auto-Wi-Fi for your favorite iOS apps! Source: Redmond Pie
