Get A Kick Out Of Posting Video Updates With Keek

The phrase "Twitter for video" usually gets thrown around when a video-sharing app is discussed. But there's probably no app more deserving of the description than Keek. Launched in August 2011, Keek takes the defining microblogging aspect of Twitter and applies it to video updates. What emerges is "microvideo" sharing. Keek lets you share video updates of up to 36 seconds each. The duration may sound arbitrary, but I think it's a fair limit. Brevity, after all, is the soul of wit. And you know you want to infuse your microvideos or "keeks" with lots of wit if you want other users to "keek" coming back. Heh. Keek is quite similar to Instagram, especially now that sections for featured and most viewed keeks have been added to the app by its recent update. Keek supports shooting videos using either the front or the back camera of your iDevice. Unlike other video sharing apps like Viddy, though, it doesn't support Instagram-like filters. Simply shoot and post a keek, just as you simply write and post a tweet. In addition to sharing them with the Keek community, you can easily share your keeks via Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.
