Judge Tells Apple And Samsung To Make Peace Not War

August 15, 2012
The Apple v. Samsung trial will be coming to an end soon, but there’s still some turmoil between the two companies. Overseeing the patent trial, Judge Lucy Koh asked the chief executives of both parties to meet one last time to try and come to a resolution. According to AllThingsD, the judge said there may be risk involved for both companies if nothing is resolved:
“I see risk here for both sides if we go to a verdict,” Judge Lucy Koh said on Wednesday. She said that if the companies were just seeking to show the world they both have intellectual property positions relative to tablets and smartphones then “message delivered.” She also noted that if what the parties were seeking is an external valuation of their portfolios that they are also getting that from trial courts worldwide. “It’s time for peace,” she said.
Attorneys for Apple and Samsung agreed to set up at least one last conference call to work things out. The trial is set to wrap up this week or early next week and as of now, there's no telling which side the verdict will favor. I’m getting a little tired of this Apple and Samsung debate. Will there ever be a resolution? I think these types of battles are always going to exist, and everyone needs to just sit down and relax. Apple and Samsung have the oddest business relationship in the technology world. Samsung still manufactures chips for iOS devices, and Apple sues them for patent infringement. Why can't we all just get along? Source: AllThingsD Image: Cult of Mac
