Never Shoot A Boring Video Again With Videokits

Never Shoot A Boring Video Again With Videokits

August 22, 2012
Tired of shooting videos with little or no personality during special occasions? If you are, perhaps all you need is to equip yourself with Videokits. Videokits is an iPhone app that effectively guides you in making specially themed videos with the aid of, well, “video kits.” Each video kit includes shot lists to help you decide what to shoot, scripts and tips while you shoot, and even title graphics and music after you shoot. Video editing is not required after using a kit, although it’s by no means restricted in the app. Once you’re finished shooting with a kit, you can immediately watch the resulting video and share it via YouTube, Facebook, or direct linking. Released last June, the app was recently updated with new kits. Some of the new kits are free while some are available in the new in-app kit store. The new free kits are Newlywed Advice, Video Postcards, and Birthday Party Interviews. On the other hand, the new paid kits are Birth Announcement, Restaurant Review, Cooking Show, Portrait of a Dog, Portrait of a Cat, and Baseball Player Highlights. Considering their names, the new kits should be fairly self-explanatory. But the update’s changelog provides a concise description for each:
  • NEWLYWED ADVICE - Get newlywed advice from wedding guests. Give your video as a gift to the wedding couple before the reception is over! This kit is brought to you free courtesy of beau-coup.com.
  • VIDEO POSTCARDS - Capture a few highlights of your trip and share it with friends and family.
  • BIRTHDAY PARTY INTERVIEWS - Make a birthday video with fun comments from guests at the party. Gift it!
  • BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT - Announce the birth of a newborn child. Include baby details in the title graphics.
  • RESTAURANT REVIEW - Be the critic. Rate and review your culinary adventures on video.
  • COOKING SHOW - Document family recipes or create your own cooking show.
  • PORTRAIT OF A DOG - Create a video portrait of your dog.
  • PORTRAIT OF A CAT - Create a video portrait of your cat.
  • BASEBALL PLAYER HIGHLIGHTS - Collect player highlights and pre-game interviews at your little slugger's games.
The update also enables replacement of the default music with songs from your device’s music library. As well, it adds the ability to export and import clips to and from your device’s camera roll. Videokits is available in the App Store for free, with paid kits unlockable in the in-app kit store for $0.99 each. Please note that the app is compatible with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S only. So, to help you come up with less boring videos and ultimately lessen your viewers’ displeasure, try shooting with Videokits instead.
