Samsung Expected To Appeal Verdict

August 28, 2012
Samsung is expected to appeal the verdict in the heavily publicized patent infringement case that they lost to Apple last week. According to The Wall Street Journal, the South Korean company is expected to try to overturn the verdict by filing post-trial motions with Judge Lucy Koh. In responding to Apple’s injunction request, Samsung states “We will take all necessary measures to ensure the availability of our products in the U.S. market." In the post-verdict phase of the trial, Samsung has until Sept. 12 to file a response to Apple’s injunction request. Both sides are expected to meet Sept. 20 for a formal injunction hearing. On Aug. 24, Samsung was found guilty of infringing on many of Apple’s patents for the iPhone/iPod touch and iPad. Earlier this week, Apple filed a notice with the court identifying which Samsung products they want pulled from the U.S. market. Source: The Wall Street Journal
