Quirky App Of The Day: Doodle Car Racing Finishes First In Cuteness

Usually, many car racing games look the same. Sure, the awesome graphics give you shivers like you've just pulled on your underwear after deep freezing them. Yes, the animation makes you want to offer up your first born for a new upgrade. Sometimes though, you just want a racing game that doesn't come with the complicated controls or hardcore time investment. Sometimes, it's about simplicity. Doodle Car Racing offers that sweet simplicity and addictive game play.
There's no huge objective in Doodle Car Racing. There are potholes in the road, and you're suppose to avoid them. The longer you drive, the more points you get. Getting a personal high score is reason enough to keep the player interested, but being able to put it down in an instant makes it convenient.
I'm not good at playing games that require a tilting action. I don't know if it's my utter lack of coordination or my inability to properly estimate anything whatsoever. It's probably both. Luckily, Doodle Car Racing is a tap-and-drag game. Plop your finger on the screen, and drag your cute little car wherever you need it to go. It's that simple.
Unlike other racing games, you can pull your car back to give yourself a better view of what's ahead. You can also go off the road and onto the sides. This will slow you down dramatically, but since you aren't racing against other cars or a clock, it hardly matters. There are potholes that pop up on the sides as well, so they aren't a permanent safe haven.
There is a paid version in the App Store. However, that's only if you want to unlock the other two cars. The app says that you can upgrade to remove ads, but I never saw any while I was playing. Ads might be in the works with a future upgrade, but for right now, there aren't any. Take advantage while you have the chance.
