SketchBook Pro For iPad Updated With Time-Lapse Recording Feature And More

February 25, 2013
SketchBook Pro for iPad, the tablet-optimized edition of the similarly named drawing software for Mac and PC, has recently been issued a significant update. Perhaps most interestingly, the popular drawing app gains through the update a new time-lapse recording feature. Demoed in the video below, SketchBook Pro for iPad's time-lapse recording capability lets you save your speed drawing sessions as videos in the Photos app. Another enhancement brought by the latest update to SketchBook Pro for iPad is the new smudge brush. Yet another is support for exporting to the popular Chinese social networking site Sina Weibo. If you can't see the video embedded above, please click here. The update also improves the brush quality of the pencil on page 1 by making its minimum radius smaller. Note, though, that you may need to reset this brush by tapping and holding in Brush Editor in order to see the new results. Furthermore, the update brings stylus button actions for supported third-party iPad smart pens. It also delivers the following UI changes:
  • New toolbar pop-over for Text, Transform & Time-lapse Record
  • Brush Palette now scrollable with 24 customizable slots
  • Palette also includes quick access to Smudge & Last Brush
Deservedly listed as a notable app in AppAdvice’s "Drawing With Your iPad" AppGuide, SketchBook Pro for iPad is currently available in the App Store for the discounted price of $2.99. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
