Speedtest.net For iOS Brings You Up To Speed With New UI And iPhone 5 Support

March 22, 2013
Ever since I got my iPhone 5, I've been using the Speedtest.net app to, well, test the speeds of my carrier's LTE network at home and elsewhere. Granted, I find the app to be satisfactory in serving its main purpose. But I can't help but notice that, even as it's been half a year since the iPhone 5 was released, the app hasn't been updated with iPhone 5 support. Until now, that is. At long last, Speedtest.net for iOS now supports the 4-inch display of the iPhone 5 and the fifth-generation iPod touch. But that's not all. Speedtest.net has also been updated with a completely redesigned interface. And I must say that the new interface looks really nice. In addition, the new version of Speedtest.net for iOS boasts the following new features:
  • Easier result sharing
  • Improved server selection and saving
  • Sortable results
  • See your testing location in results detail
Now truly optimized for iPhone and iPod touch, Speedtest.net for iOS is available in the App Store for free. An option to permanently remove advertising in the app via a $0.99 in-app purchase is also included in the update. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]
