Weight Conscious Night Runners Will Definitely Enjoy The Updated RunKeeper

March 5, 2013

If you’re still keeping up with a New Year’s resolution to get into shape like I am, RunKeeper is one of the best fitness companion apps for the iPhone. And it has just been updated with a nice set of features that will definitely please the weight conscious night runner.

First up, version 3.1 of the app introduces a new Night Mode. Users will be able to track their workout in the dark with a new color scheme designed specifically for dimly lit situations. If needed, it’s easy to switch back to day mode. The night colors can also be used during the day, if you’d like.

RunKeeper now also features a set of weight logging and visualization tools. Users can enter and track their current and historical weight over time. Weigh-in reminders can be set up at any time, and the app will also show actual progress compared to weight loss goals.

And finally, during a workout, users can now change audio cues, visual themes, auto-pause, and screen orientation settings.

RunKeeper is designed for the iPhone/iPod touch. It can be downloaded for free in the App Store now.
