SideCar Ride Updated With New Detour Mode, New Rating System And Facebook Login

May 26, 2013
The official iOS app of the ride-sharing service SideCar has just received an update that brings a new detour mode, a new rating system, and support for Facebook login. Released in the App Store in June, the app, originally called SideCar Passenger but now goes by SideCar Ride, lets you connect and match with local drivers in select U.S. cities who are willing to share their rides. And now, thanks to its new detour mode, the app also lets you deviate from your original destination and even include multiple stops along your route. What's more, it lets you do so without your having to mentally adjust your donation to your driver, since the app automatically does it for you. Plus, if you're satisfied or otherwise with your driver's service, let SideCar know with the app's new rating system. With it, you can now tell SideCar that you have "no complaints" about your ride or whether it was "exceptionally good" or "pretty bad." As mentioned, the new SideCar update also includes support for Facebook login. As an alternative to email signup, this lets you create a SideCar account right from the app through Facebook Connect. Optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 5.0 or later, the new version of SideCar Ride is available now in the App Store for free.
